Learn English typing: practice vocabulary and grammar while you type

Most typing tutors only teach you to type faster. This site is different: it is built for Vietnamese learners who want to practice touch typing and learn English at the same time, so every minute of typing practice also becomes a minute of English study.

Why combine typing and English learning?

Typing practice usually involves repeating random words or sentences that have no real value beyond building speed. By typing real English grammar sentences and vocabulary instead, you build muscle memory for the keyboard and reinforce English at the same time.

Grammar lessons you can type through

The English learning mode includes a series of grammar lessons. You read and type the full lesson text, which helps you internalize sentence structure while practicing your typing rhythm and accuracy.

Vocabulary topics with Vietnamese meaning

There are also vocabulary topics where you type English words while seeing their Vietnamese meaning, which is useful for Vietnamese speakers building an English word bank alongside typing speed.

Add your own material

You can also paste or upload your own English text — an article, a homework passage, anything — and turn it into a personal typing lesson, saved in your browser for later practice.

Why typing a word helps you remember it

Reading a word lets your eye skim it. Typing it forces you through every letter in order, and that deeper processing is what makes it stick — an effect learning research has recorded for decades. The specific gain is spelling, which flashcards and listening practice usually leave out. The limitation is equally clear: typing teaches you nothing about using a word in conversation and does not train pronunciation on its own. Treat it as a supporting layer over whatever else you do, not as a complete method.

Pronunciation and IPA

Each vocabulary word shows its IPA transcription and Vietnamese meaning next to it, so you are not switching to a dictionary mid-exercise. Type the word correctly and the page speaks it aloud using the voices your browser provides. Chrome on Windows and Safari on macOS give reasonably natural English voices; some Linux browsers ship no English voice and will stay silent. You can turn speech off in Settings if you are practising somewhere quiet.

How much to do in one session

Thirty to fifty words per session is what most learners sustain. Below that there is too little repetition for anything to stick; well above it and you start typing mechanically without reading the meanings, which trains your hands but not your vocabulary. Spacing matters more than volume: a word met five times across two weeks is retained far better than the same word typed five times in a single sitting.
